Masterful Dance of Stress

Changes and transitions in our lives create stress. These are expected sources of stress (moving to a higher class, getting a promotion, traffic, etc.) and unexpected sources of stress (death, resignation, earthquake, etc.). And they can be challenging for people.

Correct and balanced stress motivates us and improves our performance. However, constant and excessive stress slows us down, reduces our performance, and even causes our health to deteriorate.

Everyone experiences stress, but not everyone can handle it the same way. When stress dominates our body, it can cause serious physical and spiritual damage. We must master and manage stress before it dominates us. Those who can manage stress and dance with it will be more successful and healthier in life.

The role of happiness and love in our stress level and ability to cope with stress is undeniable.

Prof. Dr. According to Sonja Lyubomirsky, happiness;

50% is determined by our genetic makeup. Contrary to expectations, 10% is related to living conditions (rich or poor, sick or healthy, married or single, young or old, education level), the remaining 40% is related to daily behavior, thought and behavior to a considerable extent. It is determined by our attitudes.

Love is nourished by the attention we receive from our mothers, fathers and siblings since infancy; As we grow, it develops with the relationship we establish with our family and environment.

Having depressed parents or negative environmental conditions does not mean that we cannot change or improve our level of happiness.

Being able to manage stress and increase our love and happiness are emotional states that can be coped with, developed and learned. It would be appropriate to discover the wisdom in our feelings and ask what they want from us by looking at their color, sound, smallness and size. Thanking them and sending them off kindly contributes greatly to our inner growth and transformation.

Life is an adventure where we, passengers traveling on the same ship, unload their cargo at the ports we visit from time to time. While those who unload their cargo continue on their way, those who cannot unload cannot prevent the ship from taking in water. Healthy nutrition and exercise are very effective in this adventure.

Meditation, yoga, mindfulness, Qigong and breathing exercises are useful in managing stress. Sharing, kindness, worship, forgiveness, nature, and sometimes obligation can heal. Discovering the things that are good for us, applying them when we are stressed, and dancing with stress are effective methods for coping with stress. In stress management, our perspective on events and the effort we make are also important.

Sometimes you have to let it flow. But going with the flow doesn't mean giving up effort.
